There is a steering direction from back view.( example: Snerlin sprite in template). As for diagonal directions, go ahead and make one if you want to, but I don't have a template for that.

Yours looks good, Nastyman, but it's a bit big. Try to keep it within the 45*46 dimensions range, please. It's okay if it's only a little bit over though.
Yes, you can do anything you want with your kart( though have some common sense as to what is acceptable and not) as long as it is somewhat within or only a little bit over 45*46.
my final attempt (the other one was really lame except for the rear view):
the side view still isn't in proportion with the other views due to the size restriction, I'm too lazy to do a new portrait, and it doesn't really match everyone elses. oh well.
