My sister has a masters degree in english, which by the way has rubbed off a lot on me. She says many people do it, but strictly speaking it is unacceptable. I was only 'lecturing' him because he was being inpolite. Possibly in the UK that is acceptable, but here it isn't proper. I also wasn't trying to be pedantic he was being rude about using 'proper english'.

Thank you though Pete!

Sorry if that sounded mean or sarcastic, I seriously wasn't trying to show either.

If you don't care about filesize here's a solution.

Make "Bob" and "Whatshisname" two separate objects. Keep one of them invisible from the start. Let them have the same controls and make sure that there's an always event positioning them at the same spot as one another. If you use CPM this will work very well. Now you can have a flag that makes "bob" visible and the other guy invisible when the flag is on. Vice versa when the flag is off. Now you can just have an event which toggles this flag with the push of a button.

Isn't there an option called "switch objects"? You could just use this one, right?
