COMPETITION WINNERS: INFORMATION

The competition is now over and the results are ready! I'd like to thank all who took part; we had a very wide variety of entries in all sorts of different styles. So... without further ado, let's get on with it and pray that it never takes three months to judge a competition again... Many thanks also to all the judges who took time out of their busy schedules to work on this competition.

Please also give a special hand to the ever generous Clickteam, who, when MMF2 is released, will supply the prize(s)!

1st: 386/500
The Elf Brothers
CREATED BY: CYS
MORE INFO: HERE!

CYS's Final Fantasy-esque battle engine blew us out of the water, and the gameplay was addictive and funny. A perfect recipe for winning! CYS wins a copy of the now renamed MMF2: Developer.

2nd: 385/500
Christmas Conquest 2
CREATED BY: Snerlin
MORE INFO: HERE!

Life can be bitterly cruel. Snerlin misses out on the top prize by one point. Normally I wouldn't do this, but because of this potentially evil twist of fate, a special consolation copy of MMF2 (Standard) has been arranged for Snerlin - time to celebrate :)

3rd: 380/500
Christmas Stone
CREATED BY: Hishnak
MORE INFO: HERE!

Coming in at a very respectable third place is Christmas Stone by Hishnak, a platformer which was liked by all. Sadly, no prize, but you get respect - which is infinately better than a copy of MMF2. Well... perhaps not.

4th: 361/500
Little Santa Little Adventure
CREATED BY: Scaneider
MORE INFO: HERE!

A small exploratory platformer from Scaneider. The game was deemed as a whole as being of a high standard, but it was also considered to be very hard - maybe unfairly so. Still, it's really worth looking at.

5th: 357/500
Barfer Sickmess
CREATED BY: Zapper

5th place; a very nice shoot-em-up - one of the rare games that isn't actually a platformer! Barfer Sickmess has all the trimmings - fun gameplay, a co-op mode and a running demo if you leave the title page running. Despite these traits, many judges thought that the code was shockingly disorganised.

6th: 354/500
Santasm 2
CREATED BY: Radix
MORE INFO: HERE!

A sequel to a previous Christmas competition entrant, this game features a customisable robot. How cool is that?! Sadly, not cool enough to make it any higher - but it's cool enough.

7th: 353/500
Santa Hanta
CREATED BY: Claudius Bartmuß
MORE INFO: HERE!

Scraping in just below Radix entry, this game is great for a quick ten minute blast. Santa Hanta is arguably the most well presented game in this competition which shows a great deal of professionalism.

8th: 342/500
Robot Santa
CREATED BY: Ben Mercer
MORE INFO: HERE!

Pretty much a pure destruction simulator, and in eighth place is Robot Santa by Ben Mercer. This game fell down primarily on the lack of a Christmas theme.

9th: 331/500
Dungeon TV Christmas Special
CREATED BY: Hayo Van Reek

So where were the Christmas references again? That was the question asked by most of the judges that really knocked down this fun twist on the Sokoban-style gameplay. D'oh!

10th: 327/500
X-Mess
CREATED BY: Blueberry_Pie
MORE INFO: HERE!

Highly Gameboyish platformer with flawed jumping and plenty of penguins.

11th: 322/500
Silent Night
CREATED BY:Dustin Gunn
MORE INFO: HERE!

Stealthy platformer with some Metal Gear Solid parodic references. Sadly it falls just short of the Top 10, but still a very worthy game.

12th: 305/500
Tom The Elf Trainee
CREATED BY:CsaR
MORE INFO: HERE!

High speed collect-em-up platformer (complete with present indicator!) with some horrible earthquake effects!

13th: 248/500
The Santa Mission
CREATED BY:LIJI
MORE INFO: HERE!

Rabbits abound in yet another platformer, breeding like... well, rabbits, really. Relatively ok, but sadly it just proved to be too basic to score higher, and was repetitive as well.

14th: 244/500
Christmas Michi
CREATED BY:George Lambert

Christmas what?? Mix Rayman and perhaps a dash of Robocod and you get something resembling this game. Unskippable cutscenes and some eye killing levels do not help this games cause, but it's still reasonably good fun.

15th: 241/500
Snowball Massacre
CREATED BY:David Evans
MORE INFO: HERE!

A somewhat chaotic deathmatch platformer with bots - but without a two player mode!

16th: 228/500
Quest To Save The Christmas
CREATED BY:Perttu Tuovinen & Jaani Kekäläinen
MORE INFO: HERE!

A mish-mash of different game styles all blended into one, but the judges came to the conclusion that it doesn't really work...

17th: 217/500
Evil Red Men
CREATED BY:DaDDe
MORE INFO: HERE!

Super bouncy platformer where you must use the presents as projectiles and try and throw them into Santa's sack. Somewhat awkward to control, but innovative nonetheless.

18th: 207/500
Muksi's Xmas
CREATED BY:Borgi
MORE INFO: HERE!

Starring the worlds biggest collectables! This game fell because it was painful on the eyes, the textbox bug was irritating, and the game as a whole could have been seriously improved. A shame.

19th: 172/500
A Santa Story
CREATED BY:Reno
MORE INFO: HERE!

An extremely buggy platformer, interspersed with some flying sections (that Andi likes!) and Mode7 trickery.

20th: 162/500
Tanooj's Christmas Caper
CREATED BY:Bibinson
MORE INFO: HERE!

A fairly simple game that had nothing whatsoever to do with Christmas. Well, nearly nothing anyway.

21st: 60/500
Santa Claus Rescue Squad
CREATED BY:Stuart Browne

At least he had a go.

DISHONOURABLE MENTION
Ornaments
CREATED BY:Kisguri

No source supplied! But saying that, Mr Carson did state that he didn't want to give it out, so he knew that the inevitable disqualification would take place. A shame really, because Ornaments is really quite good.

DISHONOURABLE MENTION
Brownie Baking

Disqualified on three counts - all detailed by clicking on the link. Even if it were a valid game, it would have performed extremely poorly - maybe even last.
