I read some rave reviews about this game, so I decided to download it to try. Never believe the hype. *shakes his head*
So why the poor thoughts on something that someone's put so much effort into?
Okay, the graphics, the screenshots I could not see due to poor linking, it made me cry that I could not see before I downloaded. So I downloaded! And what I found made me cry even harder. OH NOS! I thought to myself, why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why and I should stop and get back to the review! The graphics were frankly poorly made. "but they are cartoon graphics", saying they're cartoon graphics is no excuse, I mean look at sleepdreams, the first version of that, the graphics made me sick and I told circy of this, he slapped me round the face with a golden chainsaw, but this did not detour him, as he re-drew the graphics and now they are quite pretty. Anyway where was I. The sprite work made me cry, it look like it had been constructed in a matter of seconds. There could have been much better shading on the sprites. HOWEVER, the animation was quite impressive, I liked the animation
The designs of the characters could be worked on slightly, like the cannons etc etc
Gameplay, standard put together in a few days platform game, using the built in(tm) clickteam platform engine, which leaves me with saying there are many many many many many many bugs in this game, since it uses said engine.
Okay lastability is only a few minutes. Why? The levels are repetitive with simple easy to dodge bullet enemies and a few enemies as clever as a goomba. It was like mario on extremely easy, I could leave this game running by itself mode.
Sorry to say, but this game stunk, the only good thing about it was the animation of the main character. If improved upon, the game could become much better, but would need better AI, more enemies, better level design and better graphics.
