This game never fails to impress at every point along the way. It opens with a great Mario-style intro (the Nintendo influences are apparent even in the way that the words in the title are drawn), and is very similar to Mario Party or even Super Smash Bros in places. Let me explain further. What you're given is a selection of eight mini-games - small "competition" levels for four players, who can be human or contolled by the AI. The AI is pretty convincing for the most part, but has a couple of lapses here and there. Nonetheless, it's still impressive - there's no substitute for trying to cram four players round a keyboard, though. The selection of games, while small, can be customised in just about any way you can think of. The platform games have the obvious different levels, and you can alter the number of lives as well. Amount of rocks in the digging game, powerups available for the spaceships and so on can all be changed as well. Sometimes getting the hang of a game is difficult, but the help provided in the game sees to that - the game is even illustrated with a hand-drawn sketch, which I thought was a great touch. Some games are better than others with the AI - I can't comment on the multiplayer aspect because I don't have any other players to hand at the moment. You can either play games at random for fun or, more likely, have a Tournament where the first to a certain number of wins... wins. Nothing's presented "lazily" - there's always an added effect, such as the Random button spinning around the games before selecting one, rather than just instantly transporting you in to a game. So what's wrong with it? The AI's a bit dodgy, but that doesn't matter much as it's primarily a multiplayer game. And there are a couple of spelling mistakes here and there. Otherwise, I can't find anything to stop it getting the perfect 10 - it goes the extra mile.
