You thought you'd got away with it, didn't you? No, no one escapes a review from me. Well, there are a couple but this isn't one of them. Anyway.

I can't say I've ever played curling before, in real life or in computerized form, so I can't really comment on the accuracy of this game very well. From the limited knowledge I have of it (watching repeats of when the Scottish ladies' team won) it seems fairly realistic. The game attempts to explain the game by reference to baseball and shuffleboard, which I know nothing about either.

Strangely enough, this game comes with a decent plot, involving the development of a new style of curling game. Of course it's very silly but it's well written and provides a decent excuse for what's going on in the game. Some of the changes to the rules are lost on me (free guard zone? Hammer shot?) but you can work out the rules of the game by yourself, it's not that complex.

Punting a curling stone (I think that's what they're called) on to the target is simple - select where you want to launch it from, press Space to start the Launch Power meter going and Space again to stop it. This makes it seem a little easy - there's no modifier for the direction the curling ball travels in initially, though bizarrely you can change its direction up to three times while it's in motion. You can also give it an extra boost by using the back booster. Oh well, it's 2018 after all.

The game engine is very well executed indeed and it didn't show any bugs or irregularities throughout the time I played it, even when I launched a fast stone into a group of other to try and confuse it. It's pretty much as good as the Yahoo Pool one, but without the teleporting pool balls due to the lag of course.

Particularly the game logo is very well drawn, and the rest of the graphics are good as well. As for sound, it's a couple of rocket booster sound effects and some clicks as the stones hit each other.

Overall, this is worth downloading to play against someone else. It's got a very good engine behind it and runs as smoothly as you'd like. Nice one.
