Many people get upset when a fan game is made because they think that people that make fan games are lazy and have no imagination. I disagree with this saying that I understand how someone will like a game or series enough to want to make their own levels, or characters or an entirely different game. I know that at most people have wanted to make a fan game at some time or another. So I just wanted to get that cleared out of the way before I review this, so people won't think I judged this out of a hatred for fan games. Now to the game...In this case, the graphics are ripped, which on the upside, create a good effect of being a authentic sonic game, but on the downside there is nothing really new to see. The sound and music are fitting and go with the games look and feel. The presentation looks good, it actually looks like a real sonic game and isnt sloppy or painful to look at. Having said all that, I come to where this game, or demo, flaws. The gameplay is only average, but expected when it comes to sonic games. There are no twists or anything of that sort, just get to the ending goal of every level. This can be a little boring or linear at times. The screen, which is small, allows for the game to run smoothly can fluidly, but when your running down a hill you dont often see an enemy till its too late, which tends to be cheap and frustrating. Sonics trademark spin in this game seems to be a little worthless, as when you do it, you usually only roll a few spaces and never really get anywhere. The only reason I see its in there is to break the rock blocking an opening, but its otherwise useless. I suggest it be correct and fixed. The games physics work out pretty good, jumps and springs are alright. One thing I have always liked about the sonic games are the health feature. Throughout the game you collect rings, when you are hit by an enemy you lose rings, which bounce around you and eventually stop and fade. You can recollect these rings after they fly out from you, but if you get hit by an enemy while having know rings you die. For a sonic demo, this game is only fair. But if it were to be made into a real game, suspecting some things be changed and corrected, it has the potential to be a good game.
