SPy 2 Saffron Filter lives up to the massive hype put on by the small SP gamer community after the original SPy came out over two years ago. I can remember waiting impatiently as the release date was pushed back into the next century with delay after delay. But no matter, it's here, and it's better than i ever thought it would be.

(NOTE: download and play the original SPy. the graphics are crude, but the gameplay is awesome.)

GRAPHICS: South Park style! The charactors are all awesome and true to the corrosponding charactors. The charactors are sometimes a little simple, but hey, that's South Park. Sometimes the textures are too simple, especially in the first levels, but when the game progresses, the graphics get WAY better. The cut scenes are the best in a click game. I won't say anymore in fear of spoiling something. Oh, and the Y-Comm Pause screen is nicely done.

GAMEPLAY: No other game compares level-wise to the intense "Time Crisis" battles. Is that a good way to start a paragraph? I don't care, that's all i'm thinking about. Even the normal top-down levels ooze with originality. The game shows off 20 friggin' weapons from the golden gun to the taser to the grenades to the FGG are all differnt and are brilliant. Hats off. Oh, and the Y-Institute is massive and cool.

LASTABILITY: There's a sepreate section for add-ons thats huge. They havent come out yet, but the future is bright. Multiplayer? Three(!!!) add-on packs for future storylines? Timed-Cheat Customizer? Utility to fix annoying errors (more on that later)? It's all coming up. I can't wait.

PROBLEMS: I don't want to say this, but there are things wrong with this game. Using TGF to make a game of this power was wrong to begin with, but as i understand it, it couldn't translate into MMF (No!). Look at the messages at the bottom, tons of people have complained about the introduction bug (I didn't have it) and the DLL problem (For god sakes, move them into the game folder you idiot gamers!) But...the game does occasionally crash. It must run on TGF limitations, and it slows down a lot and has bugs. But, It doesn't crash much when the later levels come in (maybe three times).

OVERALL: When i wrote this review, i could've been blowing up helicopters, boats, tanks, turrents, and witnessing the satisfying death animation of the taser. Thanks a lot you blood sucking pigs. oh, and go play SPy 2. Now. Download it immediatly. Go to sleep and pretend playing it while downloading it. Then, play for real. Enjoy all 25 MB of this outstanding game.
