Project Overview
Don't let the name fool you, Soccer Freak isn't exactly soccer. It's more like playing "Virtual hacky-sack", as one person described it. The game's concept is rather simple: Keep the ball in the air for as long as you possibly can.

Soccer Freak was designed to be a simple yet addictive game, which has been my focus after many larger previous projects / efforts either failed or were stalled indefinately. Even though simplicity is the name of the game, the code is actually rather complex and wouldn't be possible without the help of extensions written by Andrew Mather (Movement), Christopher Lightfoot (TxtBlt), Ryan Sadwick (Browser), and Izzy (DMC2). The game uses these objects to create an "oldschool" feel throught the game.

Major features of Soccer Freak include a playlist file system you can customize yourself / swap instantly (Pack-in musicians will be credited and announced at release, but they're all prominent scene chiptune artists.), High Score submission to the internet (Server side PHP system by DJN team member Travis), and hopefully after the first release, full multiplayer support via MooClick.

The options screen in the game is fully developed and takes advantage of Clickteam's ARRAY object. Soccer Freak even comes with a demo mode for some tips on how to play!

Finally, I know these screens aren't much, so I've (painstakingly) created a video of me playing the game to demonstrate some of the action. Thanks to SUMEZ for hosting!

Stay tuned for Soccer Freak from Do-jin Nyuu! The game is in final beta testing stages -- coming soon...
