Wargame is my first project, I started making it on June 07 2009.
It was just supposed to be one map like a Killing floor just for fun, but then I started to add detailed statistics, and a menu to access them, as well as Unlockable weapons, outfits, weapon upgrades and such, and it kinda kept growing until now...
The game features (for now)
Profile management, which means you can create as many profiles as you want, and all the player's data will be saved in a file with the profile name, you can create, edit or delete any profile, but when you do, all the data saved within this profile gets deleted...
When you play, the profile name displays above the player, because sometimes the battlefield becomes just too much messy, and it gets difficult to see where the player is.
You can customize your profile's color, as well as specific options per profile (Full screen, reflections, difficulty, violence amount, etc...)
As well as 3 explosives
As well as 5 Outfits :
1 = Army Of Two Mask = Regenerate health 1 point per 4 seconds when health above half, and 3 per second when health is low.
2 = Jason Mask = Kills with machete in one blow, enables cutting in half and gives health to the player on each machete kill.
3 = Bandanna = Gives Unlimited Ammo
4 = Ninja Mask = Bounces bullets when hitting them with machete, increases player speed and jump strength.
5 = Optical Camo = Enemies Cannot see the player, unless player touches them, or player fires a weapon without silencer.
To earn the Outfits you have to earn certain achievements which you get survey in the options menu, as well as a detailed score( frag per weapon, in deathmatch or campaign, etc...)
There are 3 weapons improvements to unlock thanks to achievements :
Explosive shells for Shotgun
Rocket Tracking for RPG (rocket follows the mouse pointer)
And Bullet Tracking for Sniper (the camera follows the bullet, and you can move it with the controls)
The player can put silencers to pistols, dual pistols and SMG.
The deathmatch features 3 maps :
The Hills, the Docks and the Bridge.
The round lasts 5 : 30, to make points you either capture 2 areas, or the enemy flag, If you manage to capture the 2 areas AND the enemy flag before enemies manage to recapture an area, you will win the round by default.
If the timer reaches 0 and both areas are captured by the enemy, you lose the round, if they are captured by you, you win the round, and if one if captured by you and one by the enemy, an overtime is triggered, and the next side who captures an area wins the round.
In the deathmatch maps, you can ask for Supplies, which will drop a crate with ammo and health.
You can request Air Support, which will send a plane which will drop missiles AFTER the area you clicked in, so don't keep walking after you call for a plane...
You can also request Ground Support, which will send a truck to the player's position, and when the player, or any ally dies, instead of spawning back in allies base, they will spawn in the truck, until it is destroyed.
But be careful !
Enemies can call trucks and planes ! If they do, destroy them as fast as you can, or else you will be bombed, or killed by enemy reinforcements !
Wargame has changed it's course, and will no longer be focused on a Cool Campaign mode...
I have come to realize that online games are way more fun, than a cool campaign, even if the story is worth it, it's always more fun to play with friends !
I will try to port Wargame to be an online coop or versus 2 players game.

The game is now ported ONLINE, and up to 3 players can play Coop against the enemies soldiers AI controlled, there are no user limits to the game, meaning unlimited SPECTATORS can join !
That's right ! WarGame features a Spectator Mode !
When you join a full game, you become a Spectator, you can move the camera by clicking with your mouse, and moving it, you cannot affect the gameplay, but you can chat with the players !
As soon as a player leaves, the first spectator in queue will take his place, and be able to play !
Any player can create their own game session ! And anyone can join !
Game Leaders (the one who create the game session) can kick other players by writting specific command in the cat (Kick player 2, Kick player 3).

Hey people ! After a month of silence, we come back with some juicy news !
First off, I'll give you some new features we are planning on adding to wargame :
Customizable heads: All players can customize their avatars, and all other players will see them accordingly.
Build Forts: This is a big WIP, but we are planing to give teams the ability to build small forts, that will block the other team's way, and the only way for the other team to cross, is to destroy the fort.
Well see how this turns out !

All the current maps that are available in wargame, will disappear, to give place to theses great maps !
It appears there was a huge problem with Wargame Online 0.8 !
When I released the beta, both OINC and Klikfarm servers were down, which didn't allowed me to realize that Wargame connection had a problem...
So when the servers were back online, it was already too late since I had changed the main code of wargame, I could not release a fix beta !
Sorry for the inconvenience, you can only enjoy Wargame Online 0.8, playing Offline, or if you host a Port Forward server.
But hey ! That was the bad news ! Now the good news !
Wargame's Engine has been completely reviewed ! And even if most of you won't notice the difference, here is a list.
*Added 360 direction shooting engine for both players and AI.
*Added Vertical Scrolling to levels to support future vertical levels.
*Improved the Muzzle Flashes effects with ones taken from real muzzle flashes.
*Added an INGAME options menu to change options and Controls without leaving a game.
*Greatly improved the number of objects in game and some other minor performances tweak.
*Replaced the ground vehicles as Trucks and Boats by an Troop Helicopter
*The AI Navigation system has been remade so it would not be based on the layout of the level, the AI can now navigate trough any custom map if nodes placed properly.
*The shotgun now fires 7 pellets instead of one big animated pellet.
*Added a screen shake effect when hit by explosion
*Removed the DropDown menu and replaced it with an inventory system
*Added a bubble speech communication system. Basically you press a key from the NumPad key, and it creates a speech bubble above your head, with pre-defined sentences, which are shared online, meaning if you press 1 on the NumPad key, a Bubble that you and all other players can see will say "Follow Me".There are 11 controlled Bubble Speeches and for now 2 automatic Bubble Speeches.
The Controlled Bubble Speeches are the ones you call in with the NumPad, the automatic Bubble Speeches appear if your character is not already saying something, and in certain circumstances only, for example, if you are not already speaking a Controlled Bubble Speech, and an Enemy Plane approaches for an Airstrike, your character will automatically say "INCOMING"
That's for what I have been doing since August 9th !
Now, for the future I am currently working on a Sentry Gun system and EMP Grenades (Electro Magnetic Pulse)
Basically, thanks to the Inventory system, players will be able to use, or drop items they pickup on the map.
If they pickup a Medkit or an Ammo Box, it automatically stocks in the inventory and players can then navigate trough the Inventory with a Previous and Next key and either use the object in the inventory with the Action key, or give the object in the Inventory with the Give key, which will be bindable in options.
Of course, if the player has low health, and picks up a Health Kit, instead of storing it in the inventory, he will automatically use it on himself, same for ammo, if player has low ammo, instead of stocking the box, he will use it automatically.
Now when player gives ammo or health, it gives him points, and if the player gives health and ammo when his team mate is NEEDY, meaning low health or asking for ammo, it will give him MORE points, and add 1 to unlock an achievement.
Now to talk more about the Sentry Gun and the EMP grenade, well if the players Pick up a sentry gun, which will be spawn in the bases, in some places in the map or be dropped by players who had one when they died; the players can then Use the sentry, or give it to a friend.
Players can carry only one sentry gun, and place a maximum of two sentries in the level.
The sentry guns will fire at any enemy troop or other enemy sentry if nearby, they will have unlimited ammo.
Sentries will also shoot at enemy grenades and rockets, which will make sentries particulary hard to destroy !
This is when the EMP grenade comes in, the grenades will release an electromagnetic pulse, and therefore disabling the sentry.
Sentries will not shoot at EMP grenades, so if a grenade lands near a sentry, it will temporarely disable it.
And then comes in the Hacking system !
Players can either destroy the enemy sentry, or try to hack it !
But be warned, players cannot hack an enemy sentry if they already have 2 sentries place ! Or it would make a third sentry ! So if you try to hack a sentry while you have 2 sentries placed, it will simply destroy it.
To hack a sentry, just stay above it, your inventory will automatically set itself to the hacking tool, and all you have to do is keep the action key pressed until the hacking bar is filled, which takes about 5 seconds.
Once the sentry is fully hacked, it will act as one of your sentries, and will shoot to your enemies.
The sentries cannot reactivate while you are hacking them, meaning if your EMP grenade stop being effective and you are hacking a sentry, it will not turn back on.
You can also hack a sentry while active, which disables it as long as you are hacking it, but if you drop the hack, it will enable again !
So if you manage to walk near a sentry and hack it without getting shot, you're the man !
Now, the EMP grenades are not used ONLY for sentries !
If an EMP grenade hits an enemy vehicle such as Helicopter or Plane, it will instantly destroy it, but remember it is still a grenade, hard to throw a grenade on a plane huh !
But hold on ! This is not all ! Remember the optical camo ?
Right maybe some of you did not really had time to try it out since it was not fully incorporated in the beta, but now it will be fully incorporated !
How does it works ? Once you have it, you just turn it on, and as long as you don't fire a shot, or touch water, you are invisible to the enemy's eyes, and to the SENTRIES !
If you fire a silenced weapon, the Camo stays on, which gives you a reason to put silencers on !
But wait, you have guessed !
If the EMP grenade's pulse hits an invisible player, it will make him appear again !!!
Haha Ain't that great ?
So yeah as you might have guessed I am busy programing all that !
Oh BTW, I haven't even announced that, once all the system is ready I will be working on a Versus Mode allowing 3 vs 3 players to fight online ! With all the tools cited above, that's right
But don't worry, if everything goes right, all the content cited above will be available in Wargame 1.0 official release.
Before that, I will release Wargame Beta 0.9, now the beta 0.8 was not fully working online, the 0.9 will work online, but no versus mode for this release, sorry guys !
Before I release this beta, all I have to do is finish the Sentries, the Hacking Device and the EMP grenade's code, and that's it !
