Project Overview  
Preview I got the idea to make this when reading a blog of a certain designer. I missed the good old days of platform fun and didn't really see anything quite like it around here. I am setting out to make something like those old games were, maybe creating a series in the process.

BLAZE! in "BYE, BYE, EARTH"

You are Blaze, a young man with great aspirations. Always dreaming of seeing the stars, he finally puts his plan into motion. Scourer the city through the night looking for parts to complete Blaze's Blazer Rocket.

Featuring nine levels connected through an overworld.

Gameplay features include:
*Ledge grabbing
*Ladders
*Wall climbing
*Rope hanging
*and more

Dodge enemies from stage to stage as you get closer to reaching your goal of blasting off! Feign off flies, rats, hobos, security guards, and more!

Perhaps I should rethink this

I've been told this game plays exactly like Commander Keen and I first thought, "Great, that's exactly what I wanted." Now I am thinking that may not be the best thing. I wanted it to feel like Keen, yes, but I didn't want it to be a Keen clone. Perhaps in the next level I can start making it feel more like it's own thing. Not all the gameplay mechanics are in the concept demo. I suppose it's too soon to tell.
Preparing for the real demo

I've fixed quite a few things in the concept demo and I am almost ready to release the real demo. There are currently several animation bugs as well as some movement issues that may or may not be sorted out before release. The demo will be fully playable and include a small section of the detailed world map and one full level. There are a few enemies I want to add to the demo but again, that may not happen yet. Please feel free to check out the demo below which has been slightly updated. It may be again before the official release.
Early Concept Demo

This is far from complete.

Here is a list of problems:

*The scrolling is not fast enough vertically
*The ledge grabbing is not fully functional
*Dying is not fully implemented and you must start the app over
*The world map is not in any way done
*Animations are not finished
*Platform Engine needs to be adjusted
*Platforms still do not function properly
*Not all enemies are in
*Not all graphics are in
*Probably more

That's all I can think of. Feel free to add to this list.
