Project Overview
Yuki is an average Japanese highschool student who just happens to have a not so secret crush on the most popular girl in school.
Lacking the
courage to talk to her, he settles on just daydreaming about her. That is, until, an accidental confrontation leads to an once in a lifetime chance; She offers to go on a date with him if he could beat her at a video game.

Mock up and gameplay explanation

Greetings. Above is a mock up of a battle scene in Gun Maiden. As stated above, the battle system is what I'd like to call a
'tactical puzzle'. I'll explain.
Yuki, the player character, has to challenge people to matchs in a fictional cel phone video game. In order to get good enough
to defeat Koyomi (and win a date with her in the process), he has to practice by facing many different random people. Because
Gun Maiden is the latest craze in Japan, anyone with a cel phone could be playing it. Even your mom!
The combat uses only logic. There are no random values or 'luck'. Also, you don't need quick reflexes either. The combat is
all menu based.Basicly, when you challenge someone you have to defeat their nine units with nine of your own.
You have a fixed amount of money to buy nine different basic units. These nine basic untis all have different stats. The
better the stats, the more money they cost to purchase. You must buy 9 units before combat starts. There are also special
units called 'Gun Maiden'.
These units are based on one of the nine basic units but they have a skill. This skill could give them better stats, cost less
or nothing to use, etc. They are very useful, however the trade off is that you can only use one Gun Maiden in a battle. So
you have to think hard about which one you'd like to use. You start the game with one Gun Maiden. This starter GM unit is what
is known as a OGM, or Original Gun Maiden. When signing up for the game the first time, each player randomly gets one.
(Gameplay wise OGMs will not change when playing the game again.) If you beat an eneny player, and you don't already have it,
you get their OGM to add to your unit purchase list.
When the battle starts you can already see the enemy's nine units. The enemy player doesn't do anything after that. In a
manner of speaking, the puzzle is to buy the right units to knock down the enemy's 'wall' of units. Units only attack a single
enemy unit on the opposite side. Each unit has 3 values; Speed, Attack, and Defence.
Whichever unit has the higher speed value attacks first. Units with the same speed value attack each other at the same time.
The attack value is how much damage you do to the enemy. Since the goal is to wipe out all 9 enemy units, you want to be sure
to use a unit that does enough damage to kill the unit they are facing. Defence is basicly the unit's hit points. If the
number is dropped to zeno or lower, that unit is killed. Each unit can only be used once. Also, you only have one round of
combat. If your nine units fail to crush the nine enemy units, you fail. Only by winning can you advance the story and see
more of the manga. If you get a 'perfect' victory you are rewarded with an extra panel or page before the manga continues as
normal.
And that's it for today. Be sure to check back again for more updates.
Hajime!

Greetings. Gun Maiden is my 2nd offical project.
It is totally different from my 1st project, Hundred Days.
In this game you are basicly reading an original manga that has been drawn by my wife Kayo-chan. When the story calls for it, you'll challenge other characters in one on one 'tactical puzzles'. If and when you win clear the stange, the manga will continue.
Gun Maiden will be a series of small games. Much like a normal manga, we hope to have a new 'issue' released once a month. Please look forward to it.
