A brand-new TDC Competition!
News posted 21st December, 2009 by Jon Lambert

Long ago, The Daily Click had an annual tradition of a Christmas Competition, a glorious time of year where everyone churned out their best winter wonderlands, Santa capers, and more! Fun was had by all, but alas, it seems to have been lost to the winds of time... :'(

But no longer! :O Today I announce TDC's first annual Extravagameza! What makes this so extravagant? Well well well... This competition will last an ENTIRE YEAR!!! :D Your first thought may be "Jon, what am I supposed to do for an entire year? I don't have time for that! I've got things to do!" You know what I'd say to that? That's the beauty of a year-long competition! You can work as long or as little as you want! You just have to work long enough to win! ;)

The theme for the very first TDC Extravagameza this year will be seasons and the real-time clock. The games made can be any genre you'd like, but all games will be required to use the real-time clock to include the seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Make sure it's used in such a way to be memorable!

Do you want more information? I've got more information! The compo starts today and ends on December 21st, 2010! Furthermore, the winner will receive $100 or a free copy of MMF2 for their work! And, if the winner used a Click product, they'll receive a full $250, with $100 going to second place! All thanks to the very generous folks over at Clickteam! :D

Come on, read the rules and get to work! :)

Sounds really fun! Unfortunately I'm already tied up with another huge Sweat inducing game.

Good luck to all who participate!

And what about sending our current working on projects?

Update in rules to clear up realtime confusion (literally!) and to state that you may not use projects started before December 21st, 2009.

Sounds like fun! I'm nearly completely wrapped up with my current project (Captain Plokey) but I think I may have a few cycles this year for a Christmas title. Now, if only Assault Andy has the time to do the programming...

sounds nice but
"The compo starts today and ends on December 21st, 2010" isnt that a bit too much time given the fact the people start in the last few days anyways so basically people will start on their game once December starts (again) IF there is a reminder on the front page otherwise people will mostly have forgotten about it. i would prefer if the dead line would be WAY WAY earlier. nobody really makes big ass games anyways and i would prefer a tiny but original game which is what you get for competitions.
