Desktop 2009 Compo Winner & GOTM Explained!
News posted 26th April, 2009 by Rikus
Wow second year in a row but Adam does it again! Congrats to Adam for winning the desktop compo - again- Everyone better step it up for 2010! Adam the points are on their way!

In other news, next week we are getting ready for our very first GOTM award. Lots of talk has been going around so here are some more details. This upcoming friday you will be able to choose from all the games that were submitted to the site for the month of April. The change will be that there are now 3 trophees to be won. The person with the most votes will receive a brand new Golden GOTM trophee and 2500 Dc points will be added to their profile. The person with the second most votes will win a Silver Trophee and 1000 dc points (woot) and finally the person with the third most votes will win the brand new Bronze Trophee and 500 spiffy dc points.

The GOTW page will change into the GOTM page this week and all 3 winners will be displayed in their respected month from gold to bronze. (all the old gotw winner will still be there)

So there you have it! I know there are some doubts but lets just see how it works out. Of course next week I'll be sure to let you know all of the games you can vote for maybe even with a special end-of-the-month small klikcast!:)

Awesome, thanks Rikus Thanks to everyone who voted for me

Well done Adam!

And this new GOTM sounds far better than the GOTW now, because of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

All sounds good to me, so I guess it's basically '1st of the month' and so on.

Looking forward to GOTM #1! And congratulations -Adam- on the win!

Finally! Gratz again adam. Maybe someone else should win next year. GOTM looks like a good idea. Maybe mine will be ready for the second one.

Grats to the guy who actually got listed for the contest!

Wow, so bitter?

No, Colonel Clayton. The world thanks him.

In other news, how many DC points is one Spiffy DC Point worth?

Posted by OMC 27th April, 2009

Oh, thank you Mr. President sir, I forgot that he was an international agent of national security.

@adam: Nah, not really. It's just that I'm dissapointed that more people didn't have something unique like yours. Kinda a shame really.

Posted by Ski 27th April, 2009

I wasn't talking to you when I posted that

Congratulations, Adam!

It sounds to me, because of the making it a big deal, that a spiffy DC point is worth 5 DC points.

Posted by Xhunterko 27th April, 2009

Whoops! Sorry bout that. My bad, ignore me then.

Glad there is going to be silver and bronze as well

Posted by aphant 28th April, 2009

Not at all, Adam. Not towards you, anyways.

Engines are allowed in GOTW, right?

I wasn't sure about the GOTM thing taking over but since there are 3 trophies there's really only 1 less opportunity to win something. And only doing one competition a month means it's not a big deal if there's a week with very few good games, and if two really good games get released within the same week they both have a chance to win something.
