Yup thats right, Hempuli's ingenious game Floating Island Game has made it into the November 2008 issue of PC Gamer in the UK, as well as onto the cover DVD. Congratulations Hempuli :)

i think that's only local but its nice anyway

PC Gamer Magazine is the best selling PC games magazine in the UK.

One of my Demo's was published in it a few years back. "Bob The Butcher" the game was called, and it was really terrible now I look back at it.

Jason Orme, don't spoil the moment Haha, I've seen one of Beiber's games make it into a local magazine, but that magazine didn't give a very good review of it.

Anyway, congratulations, Hempuli!

Congrats ^^ haven't bought PC Gamer in a while but they were the chaps who introduced me to Duke Forever.

Seems like us clickers are getting about these days

Congrats Hempuli!

Posted by Jason Orme 1st October, 2008

lol, I remember the feeling at the time, but now I look back and cringe at how bad it was. But the great thing here is you have created a great game to be proud of when you look back on it.

Posted by -Athan- 1st October, 2008

appearing in a magazine is awesome, even if its only local(like PC Gamer in UK).

It's good that the magazines pick up on indie titles nowadays - soon we'll have our own magazines .

Posted by Pixelthief 2nd October, 2008

very good publicity.

Posted by danjo 2nd October, 2008

wd. make them give you copies of the mag - normally they will offer that when they ask for your permission.

Posted by Introversity 2nd October, 2008

Awesome! But it's obviously local, since I have no idea what "twee" means. >_>

Posted by viva/volt 2nd October, 2008

It's British slang .

"Twee: Overly quaint, dainty, cute or nice"

Posted by Ski 2nd October, 2008

Chiefly British : affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint <such a theme might sound twee or corny — Times Literary Supplement>

Posted by Assault Andy 2nd October, 2008

Well done man, that's a great achievement!

Posted by alastair john jack 2nd October, 2008

Posted by Eternal Man [EE] 2nd October, 2008

Noitu Love 2 got two or more pages in Swedens absolutely biggest videogame magazine, I can tell you I was jealous ;> They had an interview with Nifflas once too. Really great magazine!

At least they deserve it

Posted by alastair john jack 3rd October, 2008

Can you show us the Streetwise ones Hempuli?

Posted by Johnny Look 3rd October, 2008

lol guies don't you think you are overjoying a bit ? 3 out of my 4 games made it to at least one magazine each, and it doesn't make me that proud, simply because I'm aware they are crap. And 2 of them are click games.

However please note Im not saying it's not something to be proud of, and in this case pcgamer is a pretty important magazine and hempuli's is pretty good.

Posted by Eternal Man [EE] 4th October, 2008

I don't see how one could overjoy over the fact that a fellow clicker got attention and recognicion outside of the community and the internet.

Posted by Tim 4th October, 2008

awesome achievement Arvi, well done

Posted by danjo 4th October, 2008

i just lmao at some of these comments. please - we NEED more mew people to discover clickteams products.

Posted by danjo 4th October, 2008

and adam, how on earth is x_sheep jealous? he corrected a ludicrous statement.

Posted by Dr. James MD 4th October, 2008

Me and that Cave Jumper guy got our games on some US show

Posted by Marko 4th October, 2008

Congratulations and good work dude!!

Posted by Ski 4th October, 2008

Danjo, learn when to take someone seriously.

Posted by Johnny Look 4th October, 2008

Eternal Man: rofl feeling happy for someone and overjoying are pretty diferent things.

danjo: those who will learn about the game from pcgamer won't give a crap about how the game was made, unless they see a mmf or tgf splash screen saying "make your own game in a couple of clicks" which isn't the case.

Posted by Hempuli 5th October, 2008

Indeed.

Posted by MJK 5th October, 2008

Wow, this is great news! PC Gamer is not just any magazine out there...great achievement, Hempuli.
