ClickTimeLine Returns
News posted 8th April, 2005 by Rikus

Its been a couple of years but the Clicktimeline has returned! Writing the clicktimeline over the past week has been an interesting and great experience. We have been a busy bunch folks. The timeline goes from 1994 until 2004. Of course i could not include every event and every site out there but i did my best to cover most big things that has happened over the years. From klik&play, to the daily click, Planet klik, the 2-bit craze, click cafe, cafe lite, the desolation click, clickteam first design, reviews for click&create, its alll in there. Have a cup o tea, relax and enjoy this trip with me down to memory lane, i hope you enjoy it. Click here to read the Click Timeline.

Excellent work Rikus!

Ahhhh. I still have stuff for you!! Meh, it's on-going, right? :)

That's brilliant Rikus.. I didn't realise I did so much in the later years lol. One thing: "Click Company Natomic was created in 2001 by Andi, Padster and Mr Potassium" should be "Click Company Natomic was created in 2001 by Andi, Solid and Mr Potassium" ;) It was created cos Padster would let us join his group. tee hee.

That was a great read, brought back a lot of memories, a good portion of my childhood was spent around this community and I must say its been really fun :)

Awww I miss Walkerton :D Silky's was great. As far as I remember even the bad games were praised on there :D

Nice to see the time line is back up. :-) Its nice to see that now newbies can actually see what klik has been through. Not to mention its always nice to look back in time, specially when ShadowCaster had his name deleted because of a hack. :-P

Who is Vircy? (mentioned in Click Convention 2003) Is he like Circy's evil twin?

Posted by Silveraura 8th April, 2005

Vircy, chances are is just Circy as a typo... notice how C & V sit right next to each other on the keyboard. [S][D][F] [X][C][V]

Posted by X_Sheep 8th April, 2005

So actually, Circy's evil twin makes you do stupid typo's?

You mention the release of Eternal Daughter but not The Spirit Engine, I'd think that'd be worth mentioning. Also, it's nice to see it's back. Good Joerb Rikus!

Haha, Vircy is my dark side.

I first entered the scene in the past 2/3 years...then did a vanishing act for most of that period =P so I don't exactly know much of the history behind 'clicking' in general...besides the fact that Shab became mod last year. All in all, this made for an interesting and insightful read. Good job. Now I can bluff and pretend that I know the complete history of 'clicking' on the web =P

The words "cool", "hip" and "trendy" are associated with those who know the complete history of clicking. Lets face it, anyone who doesn't know it after reading this must be a complete idiot :D

You forgot about Virtually Real :( It still seems incomplete, but nice job so far.

Posted by Clubsoft 8th April, 2005

Reapy! :D Didnt realize you were still around

Posted by CYS 8th April, 2005

Hehe going through the timeline to find my name but only find it one of the photo (2bit)...oh well, at least it's preserved XD. Man after looking at those i have to say i really forgot lots of stuff XD Good memories. (especially 2bit, that's the best time ever)

Posted by AndyUK 8th April, 2005

Its good to find out what happened before i signed up. Also one of the screen shots has one of my games on the front page :D

Posted by Cazra 8th April, 2005

JRPG will probably end up on there for 2005.

Posted by Rikus 9th April, 2005

Thanks for all the comments folks!:) Andi yep its a on-going process so when you have more info let me know, Rapid Virtually real is in there a couple of times:)

Posted by Chrisbo 9th April, 2005

Rikus you added me in the timeline! :D Thanks dude! Sim fish for life!

Posted by The Chris Street 9th April, 2005

But JRPG came out in November 2004 ;)

Posted by Cazra 9th April, 2005

Doh! Oh yeah...

Posted by Dustin Gunn 9th April, 2005

not to mention it was a completely inconsequential game

Posted by Cazra 9th April, 2005

From the attention it got though, I'm surprised it didn't make it into 2004.

Hmmm...Rapidflash is right. I see nothing on the death of VReal. It must be a real short sentence or something. :P And, I don't think I saw anything about the Wall, a big part of the community back in the day.

Posted by Rikus 16th April, 2005

The wall is in there to in the silky section:)
