Or should i say criticize?

I don't think people here criticize, but they just say what they think.
The rather bad part is that they focus on what people can't do, instead of what people can and how they can move forward.

Just tell me what you think of this community as a starter, is it helpful or not?
Do you learn a lot, are people willing to help, or are they just bashing?

And of course i would like to hear the people who disagree with me.

thank you for your time.

Its not nearly as helpful as it could be, although there are plenty of people who are willing to offer constructive critisism.

They would get help if they learnt how to ask for it, like Roy for example, he is a newbie and he asked a decent question now everybody loves Roy, he is the daily clicks #1 newbie.

Id say all the information a newbie needs is there in the community somewhere. However its not easy to find.
I don't think ive ever found the pallete object for the games factory but it must be around somewhere.

i think that people are often abit impatient with newbies. however, its not as bad as it used to be. just look back at some of the old articles.

This looks headed to be another "omg wtf the community is dying" post.

If you need help, you're best off on the Clickteam forums. You'll get a good response in a day or two, plus topics usually stay on topic, there are no bashers, and nobody will be nasty (it's well moderated).

It's a, er, slightly different story here on TDC, or at least is has been for a long while, but Shadow's back and things may begin to change.

I dunno, think it's human nature to laugh at people who can't do what you could do. Prob is, it just sounds mean over the internet.

Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.

it's nature for 13 year olds. there should be a minimum age filter!

PS. I used to be like that so I'm not trying to exempt myself

It's not another "this comminunity is dying" post.

I just would like to know why people crack the h*ll out of newbies and think that is going to help/inspire/encourage them for their next game.

And i would like to know if people here are willing to help or just offer 'constructive' criticism.

i think people usually laugh at stupidity not lack of skills.

P.S. I do try though. Alway's try to respect the newbies.

It depends, if the newbie learns from things people say, they're ok.
But some people just refuse to learn, like my brothers...:S

Noobies are fine as long as their posts on the code-it boards look like this:

Custom platform movement help
I am not sure how I should go about programming a custom movement engine for my upcoming game. I have seen other people's games using custom movements and I would like to know how to program these. If anybody knew where to find some tutorials or could help me that would be appreciated.
Thankyou.

Did I triple post? Because if I did it was because my internet was stuffed up so I had to keep refreshing and I didn't know if the webpage was loading. Sorry.
