For a whole heap of popular MIDIs - www.vgmusic.com

If you want to write your own MODs, www.modplug.com is a good place to start - the Modplug Tracker apparently isn't the best, but it's good for beginners (and I still use it after about three years). www.modarchive.com/artists/wong_chung_bang

Writing MIDIs I'm not so sure about - perhaps someone else can help here. MPT can export to MIDI, but not very well.

Spell it right Paul, it's Sibelius
If you already know music & how to compose you might want a sequencer instead of a tracker. If you want to pay (shock horror) the main ones are Cubase and Sibelius, though I have Cakewalk. (Search for more info.) Then you have free ones, which can be found on the internet... somewhere. So use http://www.google.com and have a look for something.

I have been making MIDIs for quite a while, with NoteWorthy Composer. It's shareware, but you can save as many MIDIs as you like with it.

Some examples of my work:
http://www.smegsoft.exaltedhosting.com/~scorpion/music/lionsheart.mid
http://www.smegsoft.exaltedhosting.com/~scorpion/music/roadhog.mid
http://www.smegsoft.exaltedhosting.com/~scorpion/music/lonequest.mid

NoteWorthy uses musical notation, but it isn't all that hard to learn and it's worth trying.

Remember: Good Boys Don't Feel Angry, FACE, All Cows Eat Grass, and Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. Also, Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle.

...I hated piano lessons.

LOL, I have piano lessons but I never actually had to 'learn' words for the treble clef notes... there are posters that say that in my music room at school, though. I think it's an excuse to have pictures of some cows, and who can blame them?
