so its becoming increasingly clear to me that i dont understand the whole syntax thing, or the rules surrounding it. can someone link me an article or something explaining the syntax and the advanced calculator in mmf2? i cant seem to find anything.

I think you need to be more specific. What is it you don't get? And what are you trying to do?

like all the other buttons,
Mod, Misc, Pi, Sin, Cos, Tan, Etc. i have no idea what those do. though ill read through that article

They are basic (well) math expressions, not inherent to Fusion. So you're better off googling them.
Look at the help file, at the special object, and most of these are explained there.
Of course, someone could probably explain them to you here, but I suck at math so I won't try

lol works for me. i kinda like math i just dont remember much of it other than algebra.

There functions which you can use in the expression editor, more or less like you would use them on your pocket calculator. Although Mod might not be on that one.
