You've Been Circy'd!

I have recently finished a project, a valve (vacuum tube if your American ) amplifier. Unlike most modern valve amplifiers it has a full HT (High Tension) filter, with a choke (the thing that looks like a transformer on the front left of the amplifier) and 2 very large capacitors. This means I can turn the amp up fully and there is no mains hum .

Here it is:

I am going to tidy up the front with some copper sheet or walnut veneer when I get some time. The blue glow on the output valves is actually caused by electrons escaping through holes in the anode , no LED fake nonsense here .

Anyway has anyone else on here built / created something lately? Lego, Plasticine stop motion, anything really ?

Not really all that recent (about a year ago), but this was a fun little project:

Love your nixie tube clock Clubby Where did you get the tubes from ? Did you use a microcontroller to do the clock logic?

The internets! I forgot where from, to be honest

Using a PIC for the clock logic, directly driving the inputs of the tube drivers, which work directly with the tube voltage, so quite a simple circuit

I built a jew trap this one time. You just take a mouse trap and put some money where you usually place the cheese.

Not true, not good, and not useful. Trolling is an unfortunate by-product of the Information Age.

I've always wanted to see a vacuum tube amplifier, but have nothing to try it with.
