Administrator Old klik fart Registered 2/20/2002 Points 3029	24th February, 2012 at 2/24/2012 2:14:13 PM - I have recently finished a project, a valve (vacuum tube if your American ) amplifier. Unlike most modern valve amplifiers it has a full HT (High Tension) filter, with a choke (the thing that looks like a transformer on the front left of the amplifier) and 2 very large capacitors. This means I can turn the amp up fully and there is no mains hum . Here it is: I am going to tidy up the front with some copper sheet or walnut veneer when I get some time. The blue glow on the output valves is actually caused by electrons escaping through holes in the anode , no LED fake nonsense here . Anyway has anyone else on here built / created something lately? Lego, Plasticine stop motion, anything really ? n/a
