With Microsoft Windows now over twenty years old, deleting files has lost much of the novelty that made it so fun back in the days of Windows 3.1. Well, you can once again relive the thrill and excitement of hitting the delete key for the very first time with the use of TatsuSoft's Directory Blaster!

The idea is simple: launch Directory Blaster on the directory of your choice, and all files within that directory and all subdirectories will become enemies in an epic battle to the deletion! It's up to a single brave graphic file to clean out a world where files have turned against their creator! Watch in amazement as familiar graphics and icons attack and are deleted real-time as you blast them back into the 0s and 1s they came from!

Features include:

* The ability to use custom characters to demolish your files!
* Easy association with Windows so you can right click -> BLAST a directory at will!
* Epic cutscenes!
* Thousands of hours of gameplaytivity!
* Enhanced visuals with the use of anaglyphic 3D glasses!
* Pandas!

Read the included text file for additional information.

REMEMBER KIDS! The creator of this software is not responsible for any reckless directory blasting!

ADMIN NOTE: This application really DOES delete files so please be careful when using it - it might be worth making a backup of directories just in case!

This game really suprised me.

I thought it was just a joke, but it really did turn my files into enemies.

The graphics are really good and blasting my files is quite fun. Very nice work.

Great idea
The game seems to run slowly on my laptop, though.

Technically quite impressive, but also kind of tedious and repetitive to be brutally honest.

The idea's been done a few times before, but that doesn't make it bad;

I know a good stage to start playing... Browse directory C:/Windows and go for it! There's enough challenge for everyone.

Anyways... Three stars for not highlightning that it really removes files from your computer (I pwned my 'games' shortcut folder...). Although, nice graphics and hilarious music.

Thank you for deleting my videos and tv series. Image Next time I should read readme file before I play a game.

Fortunately, Recuva recovered some files.

damn. i also did not realise that it actually does delete files. hope that wasn't an important directory i just deleted...

anyway, i think you should add an "expert" mode to raise the stakes a bit.
maybe create random copies of files you don't shoot all over the hard drive, and have the odd file from windows/system32/ appear every now and then as a kind of innocent civilian you have to avoid shooting.

WHo! That was a close one! You should REALLY write in the discription that it deletes the files for real, plus you should ad a big warning! sign in the beginning of the game! I started playing on the desktop where i had my five-page document with planns for my next project! i died before i deleted anything important, but then i started playing around with my photos and deleted most of my images from our class trip to france!

Luckily the files isn't erased, just put in the recycle bin, so you can ressurect them.

I give it four stars since ther's no warning, and if you start playing in your windows directory things can go really bad...

Wow, I'm surprised how many people are deleting stuff accidentally. I looked over the description and counted six mentions of files being deleted through the game.

I personally use this at work to clean up directories I don't need anymore -- it's rather satisfying!

Eh... There should be something like: THIS WILL REALLY DELETE FILES FROM YOUR COMPUTER PERMANENTLY!
And not like: REMEMBER KIDS! The creator of this software is not responsible for any reckless directory blasting!

The current description doesn't tell straight that it will remove directories.

Me like many other people deleted stuff thinking it was a joke. Lucky that I died before I deleted Eraser Guy.

Posted by Toadsanime 14th June, 2008

Okay, maybe we should clear this up for anyone reading the comments...:

THE DIRECTORY YOU CHOOSE WILL REALLY BE DELETED!

There. Now, if anyone else seems to accidentally delete important files, they could just restore them from the recycle bin.

Hmmm ... sounds fun. It doesn't delete anything when I download it does it ? Just when I play and blast right ?

Btw Tim, I like your altered Mortal Kombat symbol spinning coin avatar. But I HATE it because the animation is unfinished. The coin teleports back to its original side all the time ... bugs my eyes. I guess you could just imagine it as being painted reverse on the other side of the coin, so it looks the same both ways when it spins, but it really would be much better if you just completed the animation and spun it all the way round. It would look much better then.

All you need to do is copy the current frames, then flip the copies, then paste them after the current frames.
Then the animation will look sweet.

My files didn't go to the trash bin, they just vanished I deleted my DC- and school archives, and likely some other stuff. I can't say that I appriciate the lack of in-game warnings, but I still think it is awesome...

No, you guys should just be more cautious about what you download from non-commercial vendors.
