Game of the Week Winner


This was my last minute entry for the 20 events compo. There's not much to it, really.

Just guide the character along the path using the space bar, and avoid moving enemies along your way, within a time limit. The entire game uses the space bar only.

Note: I forgot to loop the music in the main game, lolz. Oh well, just hum it, I guess

It does indeed! A superb introduction story which i'm sure made everyone giggle, followed by an easy to play and entertaining game with great graphics

Weee this is great!

Loved the style and simplistic gameplay. Though it did make me drop the F-Bomb multiple times.

Seriously, I love how colourful and VARIED the graphics are. Most games have the same old gfx over and over again which gets boring.

What's the point in starting the whole level from the beginning when colliding with some obstacle? Some checkpoints would be nice... Now the whole life system makes no sense. Anyways, nice game, graphics and music!

-Was for a 20 event compo, wanted as few events as possible, so no check point.

- I wanted to give the player 3 chances before having to sit through the intro again.

The graphics are wonderful, but the gameplay is simplistic, the lives are pointless, and the intro was cool for only the first time I had to sit with it. The first obstical is also the hardest one in the game, which I guess is a good thing because I wouldn't lose 2 minutes in.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad (it's a very well done game). Has a lot of potential if it were to be expanded over 20 events though. I think you've got a great chance of winning the competition.

Have you perhaps thought it's 4th place because not all the games on TDC have been rated using the new system?

Also, what's wrong with simplistic gameplay? Surely that's a bonus. Most successful games are simplistic. Ive already explained why the game has lives.

this had great graphics. BUT- its all too small, and i also thought the lack of checkpoint let it down massively. to thepoint i could only be bothered looking at that stupid into no more that 3 times... an escape/skip past the into would have helped a game that HAD potential.
and the acoder comment - was a laugh. nice try.

I like the game, but the use of perspective object just kinda makes the otherwise nice graphics look a bit distorted and badly scaled in an attempt to make it look like a game that employs the use of Mode 7. Also, that intro needs to be skippable. also, once it's been beaten, there's no incentive to keep playing it, and once the music stops playing it I lose interest (games need sound to be fun!)


Regardless, you've obviously conquered my entry

what a fun game!! BTW one of those sliding block things wasn't sliding. is that suposed to happen? it was on the section where there are 4 together just before the animals!

I don't think the music is THAT great, but the graphics and gameplay are amazing. How simple, but yet so addictive! All all in only 20 events too?! Great game.

Really great game! Awesome graphics, cute music and a really fun gameplay. The only thing that I would suggest would be different levels instead of only one big road because it gets boring after the 11th try.

You've said the game is 8mb, but the download is actually only 4mb. Fun game, but quite frustrating. Cool graphics and very easy to pick up and play, anyone can figure out how to press one button. Great use of 20 events, I'll bet you didn't need anywhere near 20 though, could've put that main character on a path movement, then it would only take about 8-10 events I reckon.

Great job, great game. Just one question.

What exactly is the point of lives, other then an annoying punishment for dying 3x in a row and having to press space throughout the entire intro again..?

Never the less, I enjoyed it.

lovely game for 20 events!

some obstacles could have been a little more obvious as I sometimes found myself waiting a while to see if anything moved! plus a checkpoint system would be cool, but dont know if that could have been kept under 20 events. anyways good stuff!

I have to say, it didn't even occur to me that you could've used path movement. Best use of it I've ever seen, for sure! Hidden so well under a charming little game. Congratulations on GOTW :]

I really like this game... nice graphics and effects and easy to get into (well there is only one key to press after all). My only gripe is that the intro seems to go on a bit too long. Nice work!

You have to have at least 3000 events and each one must have at least 5 conditions

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!! I like the use of the perspective object. I've never really thought about using it anywhere. Now you just need to remake it for not a contest and use more than 20 events, like having arrow keys to control directions, lots of levels and maybe even add height to the track to give it even more 3dness. Or you could even go further and get rid of the path movement, and make the character walk around with arrow keys and jump on stuff, kinda like an iso-3d game but from a non-isometric veiw like this game. I'm getting kinda carried away now, oh well GREAT game!!!

Great intro. Fun for 10 minutes. Fun high score system, but for the 20 event budget, Super Blob Frog delivered more.
+1 star for the events limitation.
