You may already be aware of this. Thanks.

First and foremost, this game contains a lot of gore and, well, there's a bad word in the title. Yeah, I know I could have made this game without making the title offensive, but that's not what I was set out to do.

I created this game to make the goriest, most pointless, most repulsive game I could possibly imagine. But at the same time, it's a lot of fun to blow these guys apart.

Hellf***er is about some guy that dies and appears before God in heaven. God knows that the devil is building up an army to attack heaven and so he sends Hellf***er down to hell to defeat them. I hope that sounds like the tackiest story line you've ever heard of because that's what I'm aiming for.

It's a top-down shooter kind of in the style of the old Destruction Carnival game and it features (so far) 5 weapons and only one type of bad guy.

The weapons are:
1)Pistol
2)Shotgun
3)Machine Gun
4)Chain Gun
5)Rocket Launcher

So far there is still unlimited ammo.

The controls for movement are W,A,S,D and the mouse controls the crosshairs. You need to destroy the enemy "spawn portals" to beat the level and if you get stabbed 10 times you're done for.

I'm posting this demo here for two reasons:

1) To see if you guys can find any bugs in it or tell me of something that needs fixing. There were two bugs that I've noticed. Tell me if you encounter them.
a) Sometimes, while being shot with the shotgun, rather than three pieces of brain matter shooting out, it shoots out in all directions in an almost "fireworks" fashion.
b) Sometimes the dead bodies float around the screen rather than staying dead and immobile.
2) Get some suggestions on some interesting AI. So far the guys only follow you around and try to stab you and that's pretty stupid. Any ideas? I'm not looking for complex algorithms or anything, just something to spice it up a bit. My goal is not to make a game with extremely intelligent AI and excellent gameplay, but a super gory game; the type that overy paranoid adults like to blame school shootings on.

Either way, I hope you have fun blasting zombies to pieces. Tell me what you think.

I'm sure I have to put some kind of disclaimer on here, especially for the title of the game: Kids shouldn't play this. There. (The title is the only bad word in the game; it's not riddled with obscenities and it won't be. Just the name.)

The server I use, Sitesled, is usually pretty fast, but it was going super slow when I uploaded this. If it's too slow try again later; it won't always be like this.

Oh one more thing: The gunshot sounds are a bit louder than the intro music, so don't crank the volume up in the beginning, especially if you're using headphones.

Not Bad If you cleaned it up a bit (not the gore) but loke the menus and have more options, then this could become a great game. I actually played the game several times
8/10

Yeah definitely. The HUD or whatever isn't near done, I'm just trying out the gameplay on other people's computers as of now.

Really i suppose "AI" in this context would be for the enemies to get guns, because these sword toting homing pidgeons are fodder to a guy with a gun.

Suggestions: Place obstacles in the level, manipulate the AI so that the warriors manouver around the obstacles, maybe change the AI so that instead of running around in one big flock of sheep, the enemies try to surround you?

At the moment the "shoot 'em up" genre falls in favour of the "round 'em up" genre

Ben- I like the surrounding idea. These zombie guys are just the basic guys that try to stab you and whatnot. I'm planning to put in guys that shoot fire or arrows or something at you, as well as guys that are kind of like suicide bombers where they try to get close to you and explode. Plus, you aren't going to have all of these weapons and unlimited ammo on the first level. =p

tis good, but like everyone else says you need get the AI sorted!
Also, would be nice to see bullet fire - instead of just hitting the place where you mouse is, the bullets should hit anything in its path!

Tyscorp: It could just as well be hellfarter.

hey, you can make the bloodiness stand out even more if you made the dirt tiles more brown than red

make the blood look more like blood. not so dark and less of a spray. make the brains grey and make it so bullets hit the guys if theyre in the line of fire, not only if the cross-hair is on em. really good though. but i have to say you didnt achieve "goriest game" status, almost maybe but no quite.

ok, the whole "having to actually click on them" is really pissing me off. why cant i just look in thier general direction? plus i can beat the whole level from outside the screen

I appreciate the comments and criticisms, but like I said, it's not near done and I just posted it to see if 1) anyone had AI suggestions, and 2) if there were any bugs. Of course you won't be able to go off screen, and of course guys in the line of fire will be damaged. I have the sensors for the line of fire but I haven't put them to use yet. Thanks.
