Hello everyone,

We would all like to make abit of money from our games, isn't that the dream afterall?

I've been making games since 1998 and i've made the odd bit of money here and there, but with the recent release of the Flash Plugin for MMF2, you can now export your games in flash.

Why is that important you ask?
Well, with flash it means you are showing your game to a much larger audience.
But thats not the best part, the flash plugin allows you to export games with www.mochimedia.com/r/ca7d0cb53ebed3d6

Mochimedia allows you to play an advert at the start of your game, earning you 1 cent per every 100 views of your game. Now you may think thats terrible, and it sounds it but please continue to read on.

Remember Jesus: The Arcade Game? what? No? Of course you don't, that was a demo I released back in 2006, it had 127 downloads here on the daily click, thats under 200 people played it in total within 4 years.

What if I told you that Jesus: The Arcade Game had over 16,000 plays in 3 days thanks to mochimedia, and in those 3 days earnt over $5.00.
Go ahead and type Jesus The Arcade Game in google, before it was turned into flash it wasn't even on google, now the flash version after just one day is on over 100 sites and quickly growing.

So, step by step.
- Sign up (link above/below)
- Open up your game in MMF2
- Change build type to SWF
- Tick Use Mochiads
- Go back to the site, submit your game and you will be given a game ID
- Put the game ID in the box game ID within MMF2
- Tick where you want the ad to show
- Export your project, test it, then upload it.

- Wait them to approve it, then goto your account settings and activate Distribute my game to increase my traffic and they do all the work for you

DONE!

This isn't some scam or anything, it really is that simple and the money can be paid by cheque or into your PayPal account.

The hardest part is removing all those midis out of your game

$5 is something at least.

I think the success of Jesus: The Arcade Game has a lot to do with the fact that it's called Jesus: The Arcade Game, not simply that it's a Flash game. In other words, I wouldn't guarantee 16,000 hits in 3 days for the majority of games here. Even popular games within our community probably wouldn't fly with the bored-at-work Facebook crowd.

If you're only looking for fat cash and exposure, I'd say the best tactic - not the most ethical or moral, but the best for bringing in cash - would be to create a concept or name that Facebook users will want to try (something about celebrities, pet simulators, puzzle game)

The referral link is I earn $20 when someone who signed up through it earns $100 (so its a long term thing really)

NewGrounds does increase traffic, but only for a day or so, as soon as it vanishes from the top 50 games submitted you tend to not earn anymore.
You will still get the odd few hits, but nothing compared to how MochiAds promotes your game for you.

I earned today $3.71, now totalling $8 in my account.

I also uploaded my night of eternity and thats getting just as much traffic as Jesus The Arcade game, so its not really down to the concept.

My traffic and hits is doubling everyday, 5000 hits one day, 13,000 the next, the day after should be even more.

I've got a question!

Are the "impressions" as far as the MMF2 games get? At first I thought it was just because my game hadn't been approved yet, but it's been a day, so I'm guessing that's the extent of it. Just wondering if I should start sharing my link yet.

It does take 24hours or so for your game to be approved.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Are the "impressions" as far as the MMF2 games get".

Well there's a gameplay count, session count, and impression count. So far, only the impression count is changing.

Nice! Hopefully you will soon hit 1 million impressions as the first ever MMF2/flash game to do that. That would be a great milestone.

By the way, in MMF2 can you combine Mochiads with a preloader so that the ads are shown while the actual game loads? And not so that you first load the app and then show the ads -> not good user experience.

Also can you upload the html file to Mochiads where the swf is embedded, or just the swf file alone? And if you use the Live update feature, you're able to update the game whenever you like, right?

When submitting a game you have to upload the swf you exported from mmf2.
It will ask for a link so they can test your game (this can be a link to your host with the html file).
Once your game is approved you can change their link to the swf, to a public link of your own i.e www.jsofts.com/jesus

The live update function works everytime you re-upload the swf you export to mochigames, all the other 100s of sites with the game will be updated too (look at it likes a automatic patching system.

As for a pre-loaded, i'm not sure, I have yet to make it pre-load while the advert runs.

Thanks for clarifying Jason. I noticed that if you use the Live Update feature and upload your swf to their servers, they will automatically add an "ad-preloader" to your game, so that it loads while showing the ads. For this, you just need to tick "use Mochiads" in MMF2 but untick "start of game" (if you don't want to show double ads). See it in action here: http://mjkgames.com/climbingclive.html

Yeah, my first release I ticked to show ads at the start of the game, ended up with two adverts.

You can also tick a box for each in game frame if you like ( I wouldnt though), I had ads load imbetween chapters of a game.

I don;t make the most amazing games, but I'm curious to see how they do on Mochi Ads.
